Why You Should Eat Frozen Food
Frozen Vegetables have been a life saver for me! I don’t always cook my fresh veggies right away which mean that I ended throwing good food and money in the trash. I know if you are like me, I don’t like throwing away money. This is why my staple veggies are frozen. Yes, I like frozen veggies. They are way better than can veggies which are filled with sodium and God knows what else. They are picked at their ripest and frozen, they keep for much longer than fresh veggies and they are just as easy to cook. My go to veggies are green beans, spinach, corn, black eye peas, turnip greens and the stir fry veggies.
When purchasing veggies I don’t go for the name brands, I buy the store brand. Most frozen vegetables can be bought for $1 with a Kroger Plus card. I am not paying the extra money for packaging and commercials for the name brand when it is the same food in the Kroger brand. I don’t like wasting my money.
For smoothie lover like me, buying and cutting up fresh fruit can be time-consuming and expensive. I purchase a large bag of frozen fruit from Sam’s for $9. Sam’s offer more fruit for my buck. Instead of a small bag for $8 I can get a family size bag for a dollar more. I love frozen fruit for smoothies. I don’t have to cut fruit or add ice. It cuts my process in half. I can have a smoothie ready in five minutes.
So the next time you making a trip around the grocery store, don’t forget to travel down the frozen aisle. (PS skip the ice cream…ok may not)
