Karma It's a Bitch: How to Survive Facebook Blog Groups
I am a true believer of Karma. I believe what you put into the universe will come back to you. If you sow good seeds you will reap a good harvest. If you sow bad seeds you will reap a bad harvest. I live by the golden rule principle with added extra spice: Treat people better than I want to be treated. Since I started blogging I really try to uphold this with my fellow blogger friends. To date, this principle has served me well. I have connected to some great people who have shown my blog some love and given me a some great tips on how to improve my writing.
am in several blogging groups on Facebook. In these groups, we have threads where we show each other love on various social media platform. For the most part, the rules of the threads are very easy. If you post to the thread show everyone some love. Easy, Right? I make an effort to stick to the rules because these threads have helped my blog grow by leaps and bounds. I will venture to say that most people follow the rules.
So in this one particular group, it was the one person let’s call her Ms. Pin, who took things too far. She actually counted how many repins she was supposed to get from this thread. She had the nerve to post on the thread not everyone repinned her post. When I saw the first post I check to see if I had pinned her post. I showed her some love. Less than 5 minutes later she had another rant on the thread about someone not repining her stuff. 10 people were supposed to repin, but only 9 people had pinned her recipe. She was about to call out the 10th person. This is when I was like Oh Hell Naw Ms Pin. Who you talking to Willis? This kind of attitude puts bad vibes into the group. I am fairly new to the group. I was really put off by her rudeness. In my opinion, it is not a big deal if my post doesn’t get repinned. I learned early own if I do what is right, good things will always return to me. So what that one person didn’t repin my post, I picked up 3 new followers on my blog. It’s Karma! What goes around comes around. My advice to Ms Pin celebrate the pins you do have, keep putting out good vibes and watch your blog take off.
Don’t Focus on the Hater, Celebrate Your Friends!
