There is no other way to describe the PHAT Girl Fresh presents: Life & Styled Event. From the Red Carpet to the last model hitting the Runway, the energy was electric. Maui Bigelow—“She Did That”. I give her 2 snaps and Gone With the Wind Fabulous Twirl.

As a blogger, author and all around creative person whose own personal motto is to Inspire, Empower, and Serve all those I encounter, I was blown away by this event. I left Harlem Nights Lounge feeling invigorated, inspired and on fire.

If pictures are worth a thousand words, well Maui Bigelow just made millions. My words can’t do the Life & Styled event justice. Since I am uber talented, I am going to paint you a picture with my words. Picture it…Sicily…1913…pardon me I was having a “Sophia” from Golden Girls moment…moving on, LOL.

Ms Maui not only featured designers of size Sexy (plus-size) clothes but she honored everyday heroes. The Honorees inspired us with their testimonies of strength. From Breast Cancer Survivors to Plus Size Fashion Industry Trailblazers each one had their own unique story of triumph.

In between the awards ceremony, came the fashion. I seen women of all shapes, sizes, & heights strut their stuff. Women who showed confidence of a peacock with feathers full cocked and walk the runway as graceful as a giraffe enjoying a beautiful day in the Sahara Desert. One of my sister bloggers, model and friend Simply Vii kept saying all night “I got to go home and eat some Jiffy cornbread.’ These ladies were cornbread, red beans &rice, collard greens and neck bones thick. Just like Grandma’s Sunday Dinner they were delicious and left me salivating for more. I’m not into women like that but I’m just saying… I know the Kentucky Derby was this past weekend but Life and Styled had its own derby this weekend. It was some stallions in the building.
