Fit Friday: Squats
Here at PHATSkinny Chic, we love inspiring women of all sizes to work on getting healthy and start a fitness program. We suggest walking because it is easy and free. There are plenty of great state and neighborhood trails to get started with your walking program
As many people in the health and fitness industry will tell you, it is good to add strength exercises to your fitness plan. Squats are an easy and effective way to build up lower body strength. You don't have to leave your home to do them. After walking, I like to do 2 sets of 10 squats or 20 squats. I do this twice a week to tone up my thighs and butt. When doing these exercises you don't want to over-exert yourself. Do what you are able to do and be Proud of that.
Position Two: Slowly lower yourself like you about to sit in a chair. This is where you down to your level of comfort. I can't go down to where my butt is parallel to my knees yet but I can do what you see in the picture below and it is just as effective.
