Rant for the Day: Natural Hair Blues
Happy Saturday!!!
I am suppose to be off today, but I couldn't resist coming on here and telling you about my natural hair blues. Normally I love, adore, yo quiero, my curls but this morning at 8 am it was giving me the pits. I noticed lately my hair has been dry and brittle. It feels crunchy. When I rubbed my hair between my fingers, I almost started a fire! YiKes!!! I had to condition my hair at least three time to get it soft and feeling like freshly picked cotton. People think natural hair is easy to maintain, but it is not. Like with a plant, I have to water and put the right nutrients to get my hair to work just right. My soft curls and banging Afro just don't happen. I have to put in some hard work at least two hours especially now my hair is getting longer. I have to find a new regimen because my old one isn't working and I want to continue to grow my hair out even longer. I will spend most of my Saturday researching & youtubing the Natural Hair gurus on how to maintain long healthy natural hair. Although I am complaining about my natural hair, I wouldn't go back to the"creamy crack" for all the money in the world (well...)
