Should You Date While Losing Weight?
Absolutely Yes! Personally, I am at a point in my life where I am happy with myself. For the most part of my life, I have had a healthy self-esteem. I don’t see the need to put my dating life on hold while I am on my health journey. I wouldn't put any other part of my life on hold to lose weight. Why should I put my love life on hold? Just because I am single doesn't mean I need to hit the snooze button on dating. Married women lose weight, workout, cook, clean, work, and satisfy their husband all while maintaining their health. If they can juggle their busy schedules and lose weight, well I can date and lose weight.
Ladies, I am a firm believer of dealing with emotional baggage. If a person has more than a u-haul full of emotional suitcases, they have a responsibility to themselves to deal with their mess. This should be done whether or not one is on a weight loss journey…I’m just saying. Our mental well-being is just as important as our physical well-being.
Should You Date While Losing Weight?
This is a question everyone must answer at some point on this weight loss journey. For me answering this question, it was important to be honest with myself. I know I have a tendency to emotionally eat and relationships sometimes cause my emotions to be on a roller coaster. My emotions are not just limited to bad stuff either. I had to come up with a plan of action. How am I going to deal with a crisis in my relationship? How am I going to tell my future date(s) I am on a health journey? Where is my “Health” on my priority list? Coming up with a plan of action helps me to be proactive in my life not reactive.
Here is a look at my plan of action…
- Keep my Regularly Schedule Program
- Communicate to him I am on a health journey
- Go on Dates with a lot of Physical Activity
- Cook Together
- Share meals at a Restaurant
- Go for a walk when a crisis comes up
This is just a glimpse of my action plan…I have been very lucky most of the men I have met I have been very encouraging…one even helped me get started on my weight loss program by simply answering my questions about physical fitness and nutrition. (He is a health nut)
