MeatLess Monday...Recipe
Good Afternoon Everyone...
I hope you had a great weekend. I know I did. I always enjoy spending time with family. The weekend is the time I am relaxed on my diet. By the time Monday rolls around, my body is ready for Meatless Monday. Today I thought I would share with you a quick and simple recipe that you can eat on Mondays.
Spaghetti!
I know, I know Spaghetti is the easiest thing to make even with meat thus why I chose to share my recipe...
Items Needed:
1 box of 100% whole grain spaghetti noodles
My favorite Brand of Pasta |
your favorite sauce (mine is whatever is on sale)
Veggies of choice. I like mushrooms, spinach, onions, black olives, green peppers
Morningstar Crumbles (I am not paid to endorse this product. This is the brand I like to use. Use whatever brand of veggie crumbles you like)
Your choice of seasonings I like Italian and Badia Total Seasoning
How to prepare:
When preparing my noodles, I add a little olive oil to my water so my noodles won't stick together. I like to add Italian seasoning to the water so my noodles will soak the flavor as well. I usually cook for about 15 minutes.
Saute your veggies for about 5 minutes then set them aside.
Cook your crumbles in a non stick frying pan. When fully cooked add your veggies to the crumbles and mix well. Add your sauce of choice and season to taste. Let this simmer for about 15 minutes then serve.
With this dish you can still eat the normal garlic bread and salad with your meal. The crumbles are great substitute for the meat and I am sure your carnivores will agree.
Sorry no pictures...My family gobbled it down before I could take them... :)
