Recently, I read an article that Mo’Nigue has kept her weight off for 7 years. Kuddos to her!  I will be the first to say Good For Her.  Yes the Queen of Big Girls Everywhere lost weight and kept it off.  I am glad she sat down with HER husband with whom she has TWIN Boys with and 2 other children from a previous marriage to lose weight and get healthy.  I am sick of people judging her because she lost weight and she appreciates her husband having the tough talk with her.  Ain’t non y’all are going to help raise her babies if she died because of her unhealthy lifestyle.  Just because her husband address her weight doesn’t mean he don’t love her and he didn’t like her as she was.  It means he cared enough to address the elephant in the room.  He had an intervention with her just like you would have with someone who has a drug problem.  If you have a man, momma, woman, friend telling you in a non derogatory way about your weight, LISTEN TO THEM!!!! It may very well save your life.  It did mine…the same ex I am always talking about, we had the same conversation.  It changed my life.  His attraction for me was the same.  He still talks the same trash to me as before.   It took me a long time to realize He was attracted to ME and not the size I wore.  We have to stop marginalizing people.  Men like women are complex. Mo’Nique’s reason for losing weight are her own and should be respected.  That’s my soap box for the day….
