Michelle Obama's TKO!
Confronting Childhood Obesity
With School starting back this month, I thought it was a
great time to talk about the touchy subject of Childhood Obesity. In the
last 30 years, childhood obesity has doubled and quadrupled in teens. These
numbers are astonishing which causes more talks among our leaders to do
something about it.
I wanted to take the time highlight First Lady Michelle
Obama’s Let’s Move Campaign. I haven’t
heard much about in the news lately but I do know it is going full force. I encourage parents and care givers to take a
few minutes to browse through the site.
It has recipes and activities to help get the family fit and
fabulous. Sign up for the blog to learn
how to pack healthy lunches and ways to help teach your children about healthy
food choices. The time is now for our
children to develop healthy habits to put into place for their lifetime. If we
don’t teach them now, they will spend their entire adult life trying to relearn
eating healthy and getting proper exercise.
