Green Apple Turkey Burger
Now that my belly is full, I thought I would share my delicious mouthwatering juicy Turkey Burger with flaxseed and green apples. Throw some on the grill or the George Forman® for the perfect summer burger. Mother’s Day is coming up and it is the perfect time to try this recipe. Don’t go out to eat when you can whip up a gourmet burger at home.
Green Apples with Turkey?
Yes, it is very good and great add in a turkey burger.
Why Green Apple?
It has sweetness and helps keep the burger moist. I love the flavor the green apple added to my burger. It is not overpowering at all and it helps me to cut down on using salt for seasoning my burger. I add flaxseed because it is high in fiber and helps me keep my diabetes in check. I have an A1C3 of 5.9 which well below the diabetes range of 6.5. My goals are to lower it even further before my next check up in 3 months. My goal is 5.0 or less and to come off the pills altogether.
I grated my apples like cheese |
When making my burgers I use Butterball® Turkey 93% Lean and 7 % fat. I know plenty of people who have switched over to turkey from beef but don’t buy the lean version of the poultry. When making a purchase stick with lean meats. It is healthier and better for you. I used the whole pack of meat which was 1lb because I wanted to make patties for later. I don’t always want to cook so I want something I can grab and throw on the “George” quickly.
Excuse my dirty grease holder for the George |
