Woman Crush Wednesday: Lauren Hill
Our woman crush Wednesday is Lauren Hill. Lauren played basketball for Mount St.Joseph's and recently died from inoperable brain cancer at the age of 19. She was seen taking her first and last shot on November 2nd against Hiram College. Amid 10,250 fans and a TV audience, she lived out her dream; winning the game and against cancer. As she picked up weight due to steroids, the public realized what her teammates and coaches had known for awhile - that she was dying. She didn't draw attention to herself. She didn't stop playing. She didn't stop pushing. Most importantly, she didn't stop living. She helped to raise 1.5 million through her non-profit for pediatric cancer research. In her dedication to the basketball, she is remembered for how she viewed the game. "Playing to the final buzzer...Not worrying about the last play or the play that's coming." Not only for the game of basketball, this sentiment can be applied to a life well lived!
