Would You Make a Bold Statement to Proclaim Self-Acceptance?

I was on Today.com looking at their trending topic, and I came across a very interesting video. It was Boise mom, Amy Pence-Brown, who made a bold choice to stand in public in her bikini.  No, she doesn't have a supermodel body. She has a regular mom-bod. She is pretty hot too! (why can't a mom-bod be the hot new trend like the dad bod?) She is beautiful and daring.

Amy Pence-Brown told Melanie Flitton Folwell of Today.com she got the idea from Australia group Liberators International. The group has staged similar demonstration in London. Watch the video for more about the experiment



Watching Amy receive hearts and words of encouragement on her body, I began to wonder would have the strength to put my body on display?  Even when I lay on the beach, I am self-conscious of will someone create me as a meme on social media? I don't want to be seen as a big whale stranded on the beach.  Then I began to think, why do I care if I am made into a meme? Why should I let the opinions of others hinder my quality of life?  With all the great strides being made daily with plus size people taking a stand, I have no right to feel ashamed of my body.  I decided to join Pence-Brown in her self-acceptance movement and put my body on display. For the first time, I will put a full body shot of me in my bathing suit!  I am making a declaration to the world that I accept and love me as I am.
